Green shutters open to the vibrant cafe culture and shops below that remind us of Matisse paintings. Le Nid is in the charming and original medieval quarter of Villefranche sur Mer. A local 7/11 style supermarche’ is 30 metres away for baguettes, wine and cheese. The fishing boats are moored 100 metres down the ruelle. There is a Saturday fruit and veg market and a Sunday antiques market. The Baroque eglise operates for the locals and the Harbour chapel has been restored as a museum of artwork by local artist Jean Cocteau. Villefranche boasts one of the best sandy beaches on the French Riviera.
The bus stop to Nice (10 mins) and Monaco (15 mins) is 300 metres away. Tickets cost only €1! The train station is a 5 minute walk from the front door. Villefranche sur Mer is one of the most sought after holiday rental destinations in France. Property holds its value very well in the Cote d’Azur.
